Mardi Himal (Off The Beaten) Trek

Start & end in Kathmandu 11 days Up to 35

About this trip

Mardi Himal is a shorter trek into the Annapurna region, taking you through dense rhododendron forest up to open ridgelines with close views of Annapurna and Fishtail (Machapuchare).

It's a newer route, so trails are quieter and less developed than the classic treks, with a real sense of walking into country that still feels wild.

Accommodation is in basic teahouses along the way — simple but enough to cover what you need after a day on the trail.

What you'll do

  • Trek through dense rhododendron forest
  • Views of Annapurna and Fishtail (Machapuchare)
  • Walk a quieter, less-crowded trail than the main Annapurna routes
  • Spot wildlife along the way
  • Reach viewpoints over the valley and surrounding mountains
Good to know
  • Teahouse accommodation is basic but comfortable
  • Trails are less developed than on established routes, so expect a rougher, more remote feel
  • Suits trekkers happy with simple facilities in exchange for quieter paths
