About this trip

Five days based in the Mpumalanga region, mixing open-vehicle game drives in Kruger National Park with a day on the Panorama Route, one of the more dramatic stretches of scenery in South Africa.

You stay at a private lodge about 15 minutes from the park gate, with your own balcony and air conditioning, so days are spent out looking for the big five and evenings are properly comfortable.

Guiding and tracking are handled by local specialists who know the reserve well, which makes a real difference to what you actually see.

What you'll do

  • Open-vehicle game drives in Kruger National Park
  • Track and spot elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo
  • Drive the Panorama Route through Mpumalanga's escarpment scenery
  • Stay at a private lodge with en-suite, air-conditioned rooms and private balconies, 15 minutes from Kruger
Good to know
  • Needs a minimum of 2 adults to run — worth checking availability for your dates
  • Itinerary can shift depending on weather and conditions on the ground
  • Bring sun protection, a hat, walking shoes and binoculars for the drives
