About this trip
A fast, two-day push from Marrakech to the summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167m. No mountaineering experience is needed, but the pace is demanding and the second day is long.
You start with a drive to Imlil, then walk up through the Atlas foothills to a mountain refuge, passing the Chamharouch shrine along the way. The next morning you climb to the summit before the long descent all the way back to Imlil.
This is a proper physical challenge rather than a gentle walking holiday, with the reward of wide views over the High Atlas from the roof of Morocco.
