About this trip
Eleven days that take you from Madagascar's highlands down the Manambolo River and into one of the country's wildest landscapes. You travel with local villagers as guides and companions on the river stretch, which sets the tone for the whole trip: slow, close to the land, and genuinely off the beaten track.
The route builds toward the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a reserve of sharp limestone formations and dense forest that shelters several lemur species, birds and plants found nowhere else. From there you head on to the famous Baobab Avenue before finishing in the coastal town of Morondava.
