About this trip
This is a short, easy trek in the hills above Pokhara, built around two villages — Australian Camp and Dhampus — rather than high mountain passes. It suits a private group who want mountain views without a demanding multi-day trek.
You drive from Pokhara to Phedi, then walk gently uphill through forest trails to Australian Camp, before continuing on to Dhampus for lunch. On a clear day the walking is rewarded with wide views across the Annapurna range.
It's a gentle introduction to trekking in Nepal — good for families or anyone short on time who still wants a proper walk with a Himalayan backdrop.
What you'll do
- Drive from Pokhara to Phedi, the trek's starting point
- Walk through forest trails from Phedi to Australian Camp
- Take in views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre and the Manaslu range on a clear day
- Continue on foot from Australian Camp to Dhampus village
- Have lunch in Dhampus, a traditional Nepali village
- The main walking day covers around 4-5 hours, so it suits a reasonably fit but non-technical pace
- Mountain views depend entirely on clear weather
- Trek is partially guided and run privately, so timings can flex around your group
