About this trip
Six days in Uganda built around two proper wildlife encounters: tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and gorillas in Bwindi. Between the two you get a game drive and a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, so it's not all trekking.
This is a small-group trip with a clear structure — forest, water, savanna — rather than a slow single-base stay. It suits people who want the big-ticket wildlife moments without stringing together a longer independent itinerary.
What you'll do
- Track mountain gorillas on foot in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Trek to see wild chimpanzees in Kibale Forest
- Cruise the Kazinga Channel by boat, watching hippos and birdlife along the banks
- Go on a game drive across Uganda's savanna
- Cover forest, wetland and grassland landscapes in under a week
- Gorilla and chimp trekking involve walking on uneven forest terrain, sometimes for hours, so a reasonable level of fitness helps
- Six days is a tight window to fit two separate treks plus a game drive and boat trip, so expect early starts and some driving between regions
