About this trip
A short, well-organised loop from Istanbul taking in two of Turkey's best-known landscapes: the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia and the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale.
You fly out early from Istanbul, spend two nights in Cappadocia with the option to go up in a hot air balloon over the valleys, then move on to an easier day exploring Pamukkale before flying back.
Most of the practical stuff is sorted for you — accommodation, most meals, museum entry, transport and the domestic flights — so it works well if you want a lot seen in a short time without organising it yourself.
What you'll do
- Hot air balloon flight over Cappadocia's valleys and rock formations
- Explore the fairy chimneys and cave landscapes of Cappadocia
- Visit the white travertine terraces and thermal pools of Pamukkale
- Museum and site entry fees included along the way
- Domestic flights between Istanbul, Cappadocia and Denizli included
- Runs as a small group of up to 15 people, or as a private tour
- Early start on day one — flight from Istanbul lands in Cappadocia around 8-9am
- Four days covers two regions, so the pace is fairly brisk

Worth it if you're flexible with balloon flights and prepared for physical Pamukkale walking. Think twice if you need pristine lunch spreads or have mobility constraints in cramped hotel rooms.
- Guides Suat and Ismail were genuinely knowledgeable, accommodating to mobility issues, and unhurried with photo stops.
- Balloon rides frequently cancelled by weather with no advance warning; book extra days if set on flying.
- Pamukkale travertine barefoot walking is painful; water shoes banned despite only partial pools filled with water.
- Communication gaps on pickup times and airport collection required follow-up calls; confirm logistics 24 hours ahead.
