1. 1
   Day 1 · Phnom PenhPhnom Penh

   You arrive in Phnom Penh where the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers meet. There's a welcome meeting at 6 pm followed by dinner at a local restaurant showcasing Cambodian cuisine's mix of local and international influences. The evening is yours to explore Sisowath Quay or grab a drink.

   Day 2 · Phnom PenhPhnom Penh

   Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek to understand Cambodia's recent history. In the afternoon, you can see the Silver Pagoda within the Royal Palace complex, the country's most sacred temple. A tuk-tuk foodie tour in the evening takes you to local spots for beef skewers and fried pork ribs.

   Day 3 · KampotKampot

   A private transfer takes you to Kampot, an attractive old town historically famous for pepper and now for durian plantations. Lunch at Kep Beach features fresh crab from nearby markets eaten on the pier. After checking in, an orientation walk shows you the riverside and French colonial architecture.

   Day 4 · KampotKampot

   Breakfast at Epic Café, a social enterprise supporting local people with disabilities. You'll visit salt fields along the coast, then the Kampot Pepper Project to learn about the region's prized pepper through a cooking class and sample pepper ice cream. The afternoon is free to explore.

   Day 5 · Kompong ChhnangBattambang

   Travel by private bus to Battambang, stopping at Kompong Chhnang to visit local pottery workshops and have lunch in the village. Battambang is a riverside town with French influence, animal statues decorating streets, and a quieter feel than Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. Your leader can arrange evening activities, possibly a home-cooked meal with local dishes like amok.

   Day 6 · Siem ReapSiem Reap

   An easy bicycle ride through shaded countryside villages lets you visit rice paper makers, fruit drying operations, prahok production, and rice wine makers at local homes. You'll finish at a renowned Kralan stall before heading to Siem Reap by private vehicle, the gateway to the Angkor complex.

   Day 7 · Siem ReapSiem Reap / Angkor Wat

   

   Start with a traditional homemade num banh chok breakfast in Preah Dak village, watching locals make the noodles and sampling seasonal fruits. Explore the Angkor complex—built between the 9th and 13th centuries—visiting the Bayon temple and jungle-covered Ta Prohm. End with dinner at a plant-based restaurant using fresh produce from their own garden.

8. 8
   Day 8 · Siem ReapSiem Reap

   Your trip ends this morning with no planned activities. You're free to leave whenever you wish, or speak to your leader about extending your Angkor access pass to explore further.

• Guide: All group trips are accompanied by one of our group leader or local representative. The aim of the group leader or local representative is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. Intrepid endeavours to provide the services of an experienced group leader or local representative however, due to the seasonality of travel, rare situations may arise where your group leader or local representative is new to a particular region or training other group leader or local representative. Your group leader or local representative will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense, you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the places visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious, and social aspects. At Intrepid we aim to support local guides who have specialised knowledge of the regions we visit. If you are interested in delving deeper into the local culture at a specific site or location then your group leader or local representative can recommend a local guide service in most of the main destinations of your trip.

• Accommodation: The style of accommodation indicated in the day-to-day itinerary is a guideline only and may change. On some occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our preferred accommodation. In these cases, we will use a similar standard of accommodation. Throughout the trip, we request that our properties prepare rooms in time for our arrival, especially if we're arriving prior to normal check-in time. However, this isn't always possible which means we won't be able to check-in immediately on arrival at some hotels. Instead, we can store our luggage and explore our new destination or on some trips, have use of shared day rooms until all rooms are available., WINDOWLESS ROOMS: Some hotels in South East Asia have windowless rooms, or windows that don't necessarily have a view. This is often due to high population density in large cities, however local building standards also do not require rooms to have windows. We do request rooms with windows, however they aren't always available. Hotel (7 nights)
