About this trip
Five days around Cusco covering the city itself, the Sacred Valley, the salt pans and terraces at Maras Moray, and Machu Picchu. It's a fully guided introduction to the region's Inca history and Andean landscapes, without long stretches of independent travel.
The pace is manageable rather than demanding, and the itinerary is built to work for couples, families or solo travellers who want the highlights without needing to be especially fit.
What you'll do
- Explore Cusco's historic centre
- Travel through the Sacred Valley
- See the salt pans and terraced circles at Maras Moray
- Visit Machu Picchu
- Machu Picchu entry is normally via the classic Circuit 2, but if that's unavailable you'll be offered Circuit 1 or 3 instead
- A private guide is required at Machu Picchu and costs extra
- No high fitness level needed — this is a sightseeing-paced trip, not a trekking one
Worth it if you want hassle-free logistics and reliable guides at fair value. Think twice if you need consistent guide assignments or prefer not to navigate stations solo.
- Logistics and timing were genuinely tight; guides knowledgeable; staff like David went above and beyond solving problems.
- Accommodation was solid—Munay Wasi Inn had hot water, good breakfast, friendly staff; reasonable pricing throughout.
- Guide assignments varied daily with occasional double-booking; you sometimes navigated train stations independently despite perfect directions.
- Additional cash charges cropped up unexpectedly; clarify all fees upfront before booking to avoid surprises.
