About this trip
This trek links three of the Khumbu's biggest draws — Everest Base Camp, the Cho La Pass and the Gokyo Lakes — into one long, high-altitude circuit through Sherpa country.
You fly into Lukla and trek from there, building in proper acclimatisation days in Namche Bazaar before pushing on past Tengboche's monasteries and Dingboche towards Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar for sunrise. From there the route crosses the Cho La Pass, a snow-covered high pass best tackled close to your trek leader, down to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes.
It's a demanding 18 days at serious altitude, mixing big mountain views with genuine Sherpa village life along the way.
What you'll do

- Cross the high, often snow-covered Cho La Pass
- Visit the Gokyo Lakes and climb Gokyo Ri for panoramic Khumbu views
- High-altitude trek with a serious grade — expect long days and real acclimatisation needs
- Partially guided, so some sections rely on your own navigation and pace
- The Cho La Pass crossing can be icy and demanding — sticking close to your trek leader matters
