About this trip
This is a nine-day cycling circuit around the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, riding a full loop of Africa's highest peak rather than climbing it. You cover forest tracks, rolling hills, and open plains, with the mountain as a constant backdrop.
The route takes you through villages where local tribes still live by traditional ways, giving the ride a cultural layer alongside the scenery and wildlife.
You can ride a standard mountain bike or an e-bike, so the climbs are manageable whichever you choose, and the trip is guided throughout as a group.
What you'll do
- Cycle the full 360° route around Kilimanjaro's base
- Ride through forest trails and rolling hillside terrain
- Spot giraffes, zebras and other wildlife along the way
- Visit local tribal villages and learn about their traditions
- Option to use pedal-assist e-bikes on tougher climbs
- Rated moderate — some fitness helps but e-bikes make it accessible to most levels
- Fully guided throughout, riding as part of a group
