About this trip
Eight days across Nepal's cultural and natural highlights, from the medieval cities of the Kathmandu valley to the lakeside town of Pokhara, with a stop in Chitwan National Park along the way.
You'll spend time in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur taking in centuries-old temples, stupas and Durbar Squares, then head up to Nagarkot for Himalayan sunrise and sunset views before continuing to Chitwan for wildlife and on to Pokhara beneath the Annapurna range and Fish Tail peak.
It's a partially guided trip suited to families and groups wanting a broad first taste of Nepal — temples, mountain viewpoints and a national park all in one go.
What you'll do
- Visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath in Kathmandu
- Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, including the Palace of 55 Windows and Nyatapole Temple
- Catch sunrise or sunset over the Himalayas from Nagarkot
- Spend time in Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site
- Take in views of the Annapurna massif and Fish Tail (Machapuchare) from Pokhara
- Partially guided — some sections you'll cover independently
- Covers a lot of ground in 8 days, with a new base every couple of nights
- Suits families and first-time visitors wanting a broad overview rather than deep focus on one region
Worth it if you want curated cultural immersion with reliable guides and family-friendly pacing. Think twice if you need flexibility or budget accommodation.
- Named guides like Machindra and Nabin consistently deliver detailed cultural knowledge and genuine care, especially with children.
- Chitwan Safari delivers real wildlife: rhino, gharial, crocodile sightings via jeep and canoe, plus Pokhara sunrise views over Annapurna range.
- All reviews praise the operator's responsiveness and planning, but zero mention of costs, value for money, or budget breakdowns.
- No reviews mention actual itinerary flow, early starts, travel day length, or pace—only that destinations were hit and enjoyed.
