About this trip
Six days through Sri Lanka's Central Highlands, a UNESCO World Heritage region made up of three protected areas: Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, Knuckles Conservation Forest and Horton Plains National Park.
This is highland trekking country, with peaks rising above 2,500 metres and forest that shelters an unusually high number of species found nowhere else on earth.
A straightforward adventure tour built around getting into these three landscapes on foot, rather than viewing them from a bus window.
What you'll do
- Trek through Horton Plains National Park
- Hike sections of the Knuckles Conservation Forest range
- Explore Peak Wilderness Sanctuary
- Spot endemic flora and fauna across the highland habitats
- Hiking and trekking are central to this trip, so expect to be on your feet across uneven, hilly terrain
- Altitude and cooler mountain temperatures are part of the experience, unlike much of lowland Sri Lanka
