About this trip
Seven days cycling the Dalmatian coast, mixing island rides with time in some of Croatia's most striking old towns. You'll pedal past olive groves and cypress forests, then swap the saddle for cobbled lanes and harbourfronts.
The route takes you from Hvar's car-free interior to Korcula's compact old town, Split's waterfront esplanade and the walls of Dubrovnik, with a ride through the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain along the way.
A guide rides with the group throughout, and a support vehicle follows behind, so you can dip in and out of the riding as the hills and heat demand.
What you'll do
- Explore Hvar Island at your own pace
- Wander Korcula's small town streets
- Ride through the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain
- Group picnic with views of the Adriatic
- Wander Dubrovnik's medieval walls
- Chill out along Split's harbour esplanade
- Hilly terrain and warm weather mean you need a reasonable level of fitness, even though the longest single ride is 50 km
- Roads are mostly sealed with some gravel path, so no technical cycling skills are needed, though it's worth practising downhill riding beforehand
- Bring a backpack rather than a wheelie case — European towns have cobbles and stairs, and space in the support van is limited
Worth it if you want seamless logistics, enthusiastic guides, and varied cycling through stunning scenery. Think twice if you're unfit for climbing or dislike road traffic sections.
- Guides Igor, Zoran, and Mario consistently praised for enthusiasm, positivity, and smooth problem-solving throughout.
- Well-organised itinerary balances challenging climbs with flat sections; accommodation and food met or exceeded expectations.
- Two-week trips treated as separate weeks with fitting day mid-trip; fitness gap between week one and two not properly flagged upfront.
- Some route sections include high-traffic roads near Mostar and gas stations; canyon alternatives exist but weren't chosen.
