Great Bike Tour of the Baltics (fully guided from Vilnius to Tallinn 2026)

Vilnius → Tallinn 11 days Up to 16

About this trip

This is an eleven-day ride from Vilnius to Tallinn, taking in all three Baltic capitals and the coast and countryside in between. You cycle through national parks, along the Curonian Spit, and across to Estonia's largest island, Saaremaa, picking up on how different Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia feel from one another.

Riding days cover 25 to 58 km on mostly quiet roads and cycle paths, with terrain that's largely flat but has a few gradual hills and the odd steep stretch on the Spit. Because the route spans three countries, there are also some longer coach transfers linking the best cycling areas to the capital cities.

Expect a mix of open countryside, small towns and villages, plus guided walks through the UNESCO-listed old towns of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn.

What you'll do

  • Cycle the Curonian Spit, a former restricted-access coastal strip
  • Walk the UNESCO old towns of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn
  • Take the ferry across to Saaremaa, Estonia's largest island
  • Ride through national parks and low-traffic countryside roads across all three Baltic states
  • Cross the border by bike and coach from Lithuania through Latvia into Estonia
Good to know
  • Rated easygoing to moderate, with daily rides of 25-58 km on mostly flat, low-traffic terrain
  • A few long coach transfers are built in to link cycling areas with the capital cities
  • Old town sightseeing involves walking on cobbled streets

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you're a confident cyclist seeking history and nature with excellent guides. Think twice if you need guaranteed twin beds or prefer longer city time.

  • Guides (Romas, Mindaugas) were genuinely knowledgeable, patient, and kept varied-ability groups moving comfortably together.
  • Mostly flat, dedicated bike paths through forests and countryside; routes felt achievable without prior training, though a few weeks' prep recommended.
  • Twin bed requests not always honoured; one Riga hotel room had unopenable skylight directly above bed.
  • Only three dinners included; capitals get brief coverage, so add pre/post nights in Vilnius and Tallinn if desired.
