About this trip
This is the same route as the Classic 4-day Inca Trail, just stretched to 5 days so you're not rushing between sites. You get more time to actually stand in the ruins and take them in, rather than ticking them off at speed.
It's built for a slower pace — good for families, couples, or anyone who'd rather linger than march. You still hike the trail and reach Machu Picchu, but with breathing room built into each day.
Meals lean into Peruvian cooking, and you return to Cusco by train rather than retracing the trek on foot.
What you'll do
- Trek the classic Inca Trail route at a slower, more relaxed pace
- Spend extra time exploring each archaeological site along the way
- Arrive at Machu Picchu on two separate occasions
- Eat Peruvian meals prepared on the trail
- Return to Cusco by train
- Travel in a small group
- Designed for a gentler pace than the standard 4-day trek, suited to families and children
- Small-group setup rather than large coach-tour numbers
