  1. Meet your group at Canada Place in Vancouver at 7am for the drive east. Your guide kicks things off with introductions and games as you head into the mountains, picking up mountain facts along the way. After checking into your Vernon hotel, you're heading straight to SilverStar Mountain Resort for free snow tubing, then back to the hotel to either hit the casino, pub, pool or hot tub.

  2. Golden - Banff — Mount Revelstoke National Park

Breakfast included, then you're driving through Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks to Roger's Pass. Lake Louise comes next—you can ice skate or play hockey on the frozen lake if conditions allow. The afternoon's a Banff tour hitting Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls and the main strip, followed by free time to shop or dance with your guide.

  3. Optional Banff Gondola in the morning, then explore town at your own pace or try snowshoeing or ice walking. You'll drive to Golden with a possible stop at Emerald Lake depending on weather. Dinner's your call, then it's pool, waterslide and hot tub time before joining your guide for a campfire marshmallow roast to wrap up the tour.

  4. Breakfast in Golden, then a stop at Craigellachie to learn about the Last Spike of the Canadian Railway and its place in Canadian history. It's a straightforward drive back to Vancouver, arriving around 7:30pm.

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want a quick Rockies overview and don't mind buses; think twice if you're after active days outdoors or unrushed exploration.

  • Knowledgeable guides shared genuine history; group bonding happened naturally, even with roommates.
  • Expect significant bus time; late arrivals cost the whole group hours at stops like Lake Louise.
  • Not for active types: snow tubing two hours, hiking or gondola trips require extra paid fees, no skiing or snowshoeing days.
  • Each area felt rushed, but ticking bucket-list items and New Year's timing make it memorable despite pace.
