The Grand Tours Cycling across three countries of Indochina

Bangkok → Cu Chi 15 days Up to 15

About this trip

Fifteen days cycling across Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, three countries with distinct histories that show in the roads beneath your wheels. You start in Bangkok and finish in Ho Chi Minh City, taking in the temples of Angkor along the way.

The riding takes you from city streets to the patchwork paddies and waterways of the Mekong Delta, a proper shift in scenery and pace. Ending in Ho Chi Minh City, with its noise and energy, is a deliberate contrast to the quiet rural stretches that come before it.

A backup vehicle and an English-speaking biking guide travel with you throughout, and you'll ride either a road or mountain bike depending on what suits the terrain.

What you'll do

  • Cycle out of Bangkok's busy streets
  • Ride through Cambodia to reach the temples of Angkor
  • Cross the Mekong Delta's paddies and waterways by bike
  • Finish the journey in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Cover three countries and their contrasting cultures on two wheels
Good to know
  • Fully guided throughout, with a backup vehicle following the ride
  • Covers three countries in 15 days, so expect daily distances and changing terrain
  • Choice of road or mountain bike depending on the route
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want genuinely excellent guides and immersive cycling through three countries. Think twice if you need meticulous pre-trip logistics—hotel bookings can be chaotic.

  • Guides like Toni, Tysen, and Linh Ohn are exceptional: knowledgeable, attentive, and deeply respectful of local culture.
  • The cycling itself is properly challenging and well-supported, with guides managing route navigation and group cohesion throughout.
  • Hotel reservations are unreliable; pre-booked nights weren't finalised until arrival, forcing multiple room changes mid-trip.
  • Expect heat in the 90s and tight-knit group dynamics; this isn't self-paced cycling with a backup van option.
