About this trip
This is a self-guided walk along a section of the Via Transilvanica, the long-distance trail that cuts through Transylvania, Bukovina and Banat and was built to link Romania's varied regions and communities. Over 8 days you cover the TERRA SAXONUM stretch, through the historic Saxon lands of Transylvania.
The trail itself was shaped with pilgrim routes like the Way of St James and the Appalachian Trail in mind, so expect a mix of countryside paths, villages and slower travel between places rather than a packed sightseeing schedule.
As it's private and personalized, the route and pace are set around you, with no group to keep step with.
