About this trip
Eleven days moving through Italy's big-hitters, from Rome down to the Amalfi coast and up to Venice, with a good mix of cities, countryside and coast along the way.
You start in Rome, then head north through Assisi and Siena to Florence and Bologna, cross into Venice for canals and Piazza San Marco, loop back through Tuscan wine country around Montepulciano, and finish south with the Vatican, Pompeii, Sorrento and a day trip to Capri.
It's partially guided, so there's structure around the main sights but also room to wander and eat on your own terms, with private rooms throughout rather than shared dorms.
