About this trip
Five days in Rwanda built around its primates, gorillas, golden monkeys and chimpanzees, each tracked on foot in their own forest habitat. It's a private tour, so the pace and focus are shaped around you rather than a fixed group.
Alongside the trekking there's a canopy walk through Nyungwe Forest, a visit to the King's Palace Museum, and time to take in Rwandan culture and history, including the Genocide Memorial Centre in Kigali.
What you'll do
- Track mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park
- Trek to see golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park
- Search for chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park
- Walk the canopy trail above Nyungwe Forest
- Visit the King's Palace Museum
- Learn Rwanda's history at the Genocide Memorial Centre in Kigali
- Private and personalized, so the itinerary can flex around your pace and interests
- Trekking for gorillas, golden monkeys and chimps involves hiking on uneven forest terrain, so a reasonable level of fitness helps
- The Genocide Memorial Centre visit is a sobering, reflective stop rather than a typical sightseeing one
