About this trip

This 14-day trip splits into two halves: a proper Big Five safari through some of Kenya's best-known parks, then a stretch of downtime on the Indian Ocean coast.

You cover Masai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo by 4WD, with game drives aimed at spotting lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, plus a guided nature walk and a Maasai cultural visit along the way.

The second half slows right down at the beach in Diani or Watamu, staying in beachfront resorts after nights in safari lodges — a decent split for anyone who wants wildlife without skipping the chance to switch off by the sea.

What you'll do

  • Game drives across Masai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo tracking the Big Five
  • Wildlife photography safari with views of Kilimanjaro from Amboseli
  • Guided nature walk through the bush
  • Maasai village visit and cultural experience
  • Beach days on the Indian Ocean coast in Diani or Watamu
  • Stay in a mix of luxury safari lodges and beachfront resorts
Good to know
  • Two distinct halves — safari-paced days followed by beach downtime, so expect a change of gear midway
  • Involves long drives between parks, typical of multi-park Kenya safaris
