Amalfi Coast Walking - Hotel Risorgimento

San Lazzaro → Positano 8 days Up to 16

About this trip

This is a centre-based walking week on the Amalfi Coast, staying at Hotel Risorgimento and heading out each day on foot to explore the coastline's villages, cliffs and lemon groves.

You'll walk old mule tracks and stone stairways between places like Ravello, Positano and Amalfi, with the Tyrrhenian Sea in view for much of it, including the well-known Walk of the Gods.

Days are spent out on the trails and evenings back at the hotel, often with a glass of local wine on the terrace. A guide leads the group throughout, and there's an optional day trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum for those who want it.

What you'll do

  • Walk the Walk of the Gods trail above the coast
  • Explore Ravello, Positano and Amalfi on foot
  • Follow old mule tracks and stone stairways through lemon groves
  • Take in coastal views over the Tyrrhenian Sea
  • Optional day trip to the Roman ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum
  • Evenings on the hotel's panoramic terrace
Good to know
  • Centre-based — you stay at one hotel throughout rather than moving location each night
  • Rated moderate, with regular walking on uneven terrain including stairways and cliff paths
  • Fully guided in a small group
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you enjoy hiking coastal scenery with genuinely knowledgeable local guides and want excellent hotel comfort. Think twice if you need clarity on pre-trip admin—insurance queries went unanswered.

  • Guides Genaro and Gaia are exceptionally knowledgeable locals who make the Amalfi walks genuinely memorable.
  • Hotel Risorgimento staff consistently attentive and friendly; food excellent; terrace drinks a real highlight.
  • TourRadar admin support vague on insurance questions; one traveller ended up paying extra $180 unnecessarily.
  • Lots of uphill and downhill stairs on walks—do fitness prep beforehand; proper hiking boots essential.
