K2 Base Camp Trek & Gondogoro La Pakistan 2026 & 2027

This is a serious high-altitude trek through the Karakoram, tracing the route to K2 Base Camp before crossing the Gondogoro La, a steep pass that requires fixed ropes to ascend and descend. Expect wild, remote terrain rather than comfort — you'll be camping for much of the 20 days.

The route follows the Braldu Valley from the village of Askole, then climbs the Baltoro Glacier to Concordia, a spot where four 8,000m peaks — K2, Broad Peak, and both Gasherbrums — are visible at once. There's an option to add a day walk to the K2 and Broad Peak base camps.

It's demanding and technical in places, particularly the Gondogoro La crossing, but you're not scaling any summits — this is trekking at its most remote and rewarding, guided throughout by experienced local staff.
