   Day 1 · UluruYulara (or Alice Springs) / Uluru / Yulara

   

   Meet your group at 4 pm in Yulara, then head straight to Uluru for sunset. Watch the massive sandstone monolith shift colour as the light fades, then stay up for some of the country's best stargazing from this remote location.

   Day 2 · YularaUluru / Kata Tjuta / Yulara

   Start with sunrise over Uluru, then walk the Kuniya Walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole with a First Nations guide who explains its significance to the Anangu people. Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, then spend the afternoon walking between Kata Tjuta's 36 domed rock formations on the Walpa Gorge Walk.

   Day 3 · Watarrka National ParkUluru / Kings Canyon

   Rise early for sunrise and walk the entire circuit around Uluru's base. Drive to Watarrka National Park with lunch included en route, then enjoy a free evening to relax, stargaze or chat with other travellers.

   Day 4 · Kings CanyonKings Canyon / Finke River

   Eat a bushman's breakfast at Kings Creek Station, then tackle the Rim Walk across Kings Canyon plateau, passing the 'Lost City' sandstone domes and 'Garden of Eden' oasis. Drive via Mereenie Loop to your camp on the Finke River's banks, with the option to do the Kalangarra Walk for valley views.

   Day 5 · Ormiston GorgeWest MacDonnell Ranges / Finke River

   Full day exploring Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges), starting at Gosse Bluff asteroid crater, then the Ghost Gum Walk at Ormiston Gorge with time to swim in the waterhole. Return to Finke River camp for a free evening under the stars.

   Day 6 · Alice SpringsHermannsburg / Alice Springs

   Early morning visit to Simpsons Gap to spot black-footed rock wallabies at the permanent waterhole, then drive to Alice Springs where the trip ends. You can leave anytime; no further activities are scheduled.

• Guide: AUSTRALIA LEADERS: All group trips are accompanied by a group leader. In Australia, your group leader is often also your driver, taking you from start to finish. The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. Your leader will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, as well as recommend great local eating venues. They will also introduce you to our local friends along the way. Please be aware they will be juggling many things on your tour and on some days may have less time to spend with you. One of your leader’s responsibilities is to drive you safely between destinations. Australian regulations require them to take short rest breaks during the trip. These breaks are carefully planned into the itinerary and help ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing throughout the journey. During these periods, your leader may step away to rest, but your day’s arrangements will always be clearly outlined so you can continue to enjoy your time. Rest assured, they are committed to making your experience smooth, enjoyable, and memorable, and will always be working hard to ensure you and your group have a fantastic time exploring Australia!

• Transport: Travel across Australia often involves long distances and varied road conditions, and our vehicle selection reflects the practical demands of operating in remote and regional areas. We primarily operate our own fleet of comfortable, fit-for-purpose vehicles, including Coaster buses with trailers, mini-coaches, and, in certain regions, larger touring trucks. To ensure seamless delivery of your itinerary, we may also utilise vehicles sourced from accredited local providers, which may not display Intrepid branding. Across both our fleet and any supplementary vehicles, configurations are standardised for Australian touring conditions, prioritising reliability, and access to a wide range of destinations. As such, vehicles do not include onboard Wi Fi, reclining seats, or toilet facilities. All vehicles meet Australian safety standards and are maintained by licensed operators; however, age, configuration, and kilometres travelled may vary and may differ from touring standards in other destinations. In the case of a breakdown or other unforeseen circumstances affecting the vehicle, we reserve the right to substitute vehicles other than those specified, to ensure the operation of the itinerary. Seats on tour vehicles are not pre-allocated. To ensure all participants get to enjoy window seats or seats closer to the front we encourage a daily seat rotation system. Private vehicle
• Accommodation: The style of accommodation indicated in the day-to-day itinerary is a guideline only and may change. On some occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our preferred accommodation. In these cases, we will use a similar standard of accommodation. Throughout the trip, we request that our properties prepare rooms in time for our arrival, especially if we're arriving prior to normal check-in time. However, this isn't always possible which means we won't be able to check-in immediately on arrival at some hotels. Instead, we can store our luggage and explore our new destination or on some trips, have use of shared day rooms until all rooms are available.
