About this trip
This 5-day trip takes you overland from Chiang Rai in Thailand into Northern Laos, finishing in the UNESCO city of Luang Prabang. It's a mix of border crossing, small-town exploration, and a scenic train ride, with plenty of chances to slow down and take in the landscape.
You'll spend time in Luang Namtha and Muong Sing, two towns that give a real sense of local life away from the bigger tourist routes, before heading south by express train through mountain scenery.
In Luang Prabang the pace turns to caves, waterfalls, and food, rounding off a trip that's as much about culture and daily life as it is about sights.
