Annapurna Base Camp Trek

This trek takes you into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheatre of Himalayan peaks, over ten days on foot from Pokhara. You walk through Gurung villages, rhododendron and bamboo forest, and glacial valleys before the trail opens out at the base camp itself.

The route builds gradually, so by the time you reach 4,130 metres your legs and lungs have had a chance to adjust. Reaching Annapurna Base Camp for sunrise, ringed by peaks including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre, is the point of the whole walk.

It's a there-and-back route, so the way down retraces your steps, with a stop at the hot springs of Jhinu Danda to ease the legs before you're back in Pokhara.
