About this trip
Thirteen days across Uganda by road, moving through savannah, forest and valley country in search of gorillas, chimpanzees and the Big Five. This is a proper overland safari — you cover ground, and the wildlife is the point.
Alongside the headline gorilla trek, you track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, look for lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park and visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a close look at white rhinos. Boat rides on the Nile and the Kazinga Channel bring you close to hippos, crocodiles and birdlife along the water.
There's a slower stretch too, with time to unwind at Lake Bunyonyi and to meet local communities through guided walks, so it's not all game drives and border crossings.
