of Intensive Adventurous Safari through Magical Uganda & Rwanda

Entebbe → Kigali 16 days Up to 6

About this trip

This is a long, ground-based safari across five of Uganda's major parks plus a crossing into Rwanda, built for people who don't mind covering serious distance to see serious wildlife. Expect long drives between destinations, broken up by game drives, treks and boat trips.

You'll move through Kidepo's remote, rocky wilderness, the falls and river life of Murchison, the game-rich plains of Queen Elizabeth, Kibale's forest, and Bwindi's mountain gorillas, before finishing in Rwanda with mountain scenery and a city tour of Kigali covering its history.

It's a physically demanding itinerary rather than a relaxed lodge safari — there's a hike to the top of Murchison Falls, gorilla and chimp tracking, and plenty of time on the road.

What you'll do

  • Game drives in Kidepo Valley, Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks
  • Hike to the top of Murchison Falls
  • Track mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
  • Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest
  • Boat rides on the Kazinga Channel and the River Nile
  • Cross-border overland travel into Rwanda ending with a Kigali city tour
Good to know
  • Long overland travel days between parks — this suits travellers comfortable with distance and rough roads, particularly through Kidepo's Karamoja region
  • Physically demanding — includes trekking for gorillas and chimps plus a hike to the top of Murchison Falls
  • Private trip, so pace and stops can be tailored, including for travellers with mobility or hearing needs
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value seamless customisation, exceptional guides and genuine flexibility. Think twice if you need a structured group experience or shorter itineraries.

  • Guides Hami, Giraffe and Solomon consistently praised for vast knowledge, warmth and going above and beyond—turning flat tyres into memories.
  • Richard handles last-minute changes and special requests without complaint; responds immediately even during night hours to fine-tune your trip.
  • Pop-up safari van, reliable 4G wifi, cold water, open top for photography and quality accommodation included; food described as exceptional.
  • Some days involve up to 8 hours of driving; long travel days are standard on multi-week itineraries across remote parks.
