Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Thirteen days on foot through the Annapurna region, walking up from subtropical forest to the amphitheatre of peaks around Annapurna Base Camp at 4130m. The trail builds gradually, so you get days of acclimatisation and variety before the high point.

This isn't just a mountain approach — you pass through Gurung and Thakali villages with their stone houses, prayer flags, mani stones and gompas, and the route takes in Poon Hill for one of the best sunrise viewpoints in Nepal. Along the way there are suspension bridges, terraced farmland, yak pastures and glacial moraine to cross.

It's fully guided, with permits and logistics handled by a Nepali trekking operator, so you can focus on the walking. A hot spring stop at Jhinu Danda gives your legs a break before the final push.

• Reach Annapurna Base Camp at 4130m via Machapuchare Base Camp
• Watch sunrise over the Himalaya from Poon Hill (3210m)
• Walk through Gurung and Thakali villages with traditional stone houses
• Pass Buddhist gompas, mani stones and prayer flags along the trail
• Soak in the hot springs at Jhinu Danda
• Views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I-IV, Manaslu and Machapuchare among others
