About this trip
This is the classic Everest Base Camp trek compressed into 9 days, taking you from Kathmandu on the short flight into Lukla and up through Sherpa country to the foot of the world's highest mountain.
You walk through Phakding and Namche Bazaar, past monasteries and suspension bridges strung with prayer flags, with Everest, Ama Dablam and Nuptse in view for much of the route. The trail passes through genuine Sherpa villages, not just scenery.
It's built for people short on time who still want to stand at Base Camp, so the pace is quicker than the standard two-week version and the days are longer as a result.

- Fly into Lukla's Tenzing-Hillary Airport
- Trek through Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital
- Visit Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Everest region
- Take in views of Everest, Ama Dablam and Imja Tse from Dingboche
- Hike from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp itself
- Fast-paced with no dedicated acclimatization day, so a reasonable level of fitness matters
- Suits travellers who want the Base Camp achievement without a two-week commitment
- Weather can delay the Lukla flight in either direction, which is worth building slack around
