About this trip
This 14-day trek takes you into the Khumbu region of Nepal, following the route Hillary and Tenzing Norgay once took towards Everest Base Camp. You walk through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, past gorges, forests and Sherpa villages before reaching EBC at 5365m.
Along the way you pass Tengboche Monastery, with views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu, and climb to Kala Patthar for the closest look at the mountain most trekkers get without technical climbing gear. Acclimatisation days are built in before the higher stages.
This suits nature-lovers and those wanting to stand where Everest history was made, rather than anyone after a fast or easy walk. Permits, meals and accommodation on the trek are arranged for you.

Worth it if you're fit enough for high altitude and accept weather delays are part of the game. Think twice if you need guaranteed flight connections—weather groundings happen.
- Guides like Santa, Mindu, and Wangchuu are genuinely exceptional: experienced, multilingual, personally invested in your success.
- Scenery genuinely justifies the hype—views improve daily from forests to towering peaks, weather permitting.
- Flight delays to Lukla are real: one group waited 4 days before starting, holding up the entire schedule.
- Group bonding and porter care are standout: trekkers regularly describe guides and porters as becoming like family.
