Everest Base Camp Trek

Fourteen days walking into the Khumbu region of Nepal, following the same route Hillary and Tenzing Norgay took before their historic 1953 ascent. You end up at Everest Base Camp itself, at 5,364m, with the Khumbu Glacier grinding down from the mountain in front of you.

The trek runs through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, passing through forests, gorges, and Sherpa villages before the terrain opens up into high alpine views. Along the way you pass Tengboche Monastery, with Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu all visible from the trail.

Days are built around walking and acclimatising rather than climbing — this is a trek, not an expedition. Sherpa Expedition Teams handle permits, meals, and accommodation throughout, and the trip includes the scenic flight in and out of Lukla.

What you'll do
