About this trip

Ten days by train through Italy, Switzerland and Germany, taking in Milan, the lakes of northern Italy, the Swiss Alps and Bavaria's castles and towns.

The pace mixes guided day tours with scenic train journeys and stretches of time to explore on your own, so you get structure without being tied to a group the whole way.

Expect a run of contrasts — city streets in Milan, still water on Lake Como, alpine scenery around Zurich, and the storybook towns of Bavaria.

  • Cruise across Lake Como
  • See the Rhine Falls in Switzerland
  • Visit Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria

Good to know
  • Partially guided — some days are led, others left free for independent exploration
