About this trip
This is a 14-day route through Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, taking in some of Indochina's most significant historical sites alongside daily life on the Mekong.
You move from the old royal capital of Luang Prabang to the temples of Angkor, then through Vietnam from south to north, covering war history, ancient trading towns and Ha Long Bay.
It's a partially guided trip, so some days run with a group and guide and others give you time to explore on your own.
What you'll do
- Walk the old town of Luang Prabang
- Explore the temples of Angkor
- Visit the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City
- Take a boat through the floating markets and canals of the Mekong Delta
- Descend into the Cu Chi tunnels
- Cruise past the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay
- Covers three countries in 14 days, so travel days and border crossings are part of the pace
- Partially guided — expect a mix of group activities and free time
- Family-friendly, so suits travellers wanting a historical and cultural focus rather than a party pace
