About this trip

Ten days moving the length of Vietnam, from the Mekong Delta in the south up to Ha Long Bay in the north, taking in the country's history, food and old trading towns along the way.

You start in Ho Chi Minh City with the War Remnants Museum and the Cu Chi tunnels, then head into the Mekong Delta to see life lived on the water. From there it's on to Hoi An's old town, a food-focused look at Hue, and Hanoi's Old Quarter, before finishing with a cruise among the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay.

It's partially guided, so you get local guides for the key sights but some stretches to explore on your own, and it's pitched as suitable for families and groups covering a lot of ground in a short time.

What you'll do

  • Visit the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Explore the Cu Chi tunnels network
  • Cruise the Mekong Delta's rivers, canals and floating markets
  • Walk the old trading port streets of Hoi An
  • Join a food-focused tour of Hue
  • Cruise past the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay
Good to know
  • Covers a lot of Vietnam in 10 days, so expect regular moves between cities
  • Partially guided — mix of guided visits and free time
  • Suited to families and groups travelling around Christmas and New Year

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want well-organised Vietnam coverage with strong guides and reliable logistics. Think twice if you're 18-35 and heat-sensitive—the pace and multiple daily tours might exhaust you.

  • Threeland Travel's daily communication about pickups and itinerary changes kept everyone informed and stress-free.
  • Multiple tours per day in extreme heat proved too much for some; rest days weren't built in despite group fatigue.
  • Morning pickups ran 45 minutes late, and some guides padded itineraries with obligatory tourist shop stops instead of site time.
  • Guides are knowledgeable locals; accommodation and transport rated satisfactory; food generous enough that weight gain was a running joke.
