About this trip
This seven-day trek takes you up Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route, the most direct line to the 5,895m summit. It's often called the Coca-Cola Route for its popularity, and it's the one trail on the mountain where you sleep in mountain huts rather than tents each night.
You'll move through forest, moorland, and the high-altitude desert known as the Saddle on your way to Kibo Hut before the final push. It's the fastest way up, which keeps costs down, but the quick ascent gives your body less time to adjust to altitude.
Local guides, cooks, and porters are with you throughout, handling the logistics so you can focus on the walk and the climb itself.

Worth it if you value exceptional guides and group camaraderie. Think twice if you're altitude-sensitive or need more acclimatisation time.
- Guides like Fortunatus actively manage your health, tell stories during climbs, and genuinely know when to push or support you.
- The porter and support crew create real bonds; multiple reviewers credit them directly with summit success and making the trek enjoyable.
- Seven days feels rushed for acclimatisation; everyone experienced altitude sickness and some didn't summit despite strong support.
- Group dynamics matter hugely here; you're relying on your cohort's energy and the guides' skill to manage the physical toll.
