About this trip
A short trek in the Annapurna region for when time is tight but you still want proper mountain views. You loop out from and back to Nayapul, taking in Ghorepani and Ghandruk, and sleep in local teahouses along the way.
The main event is the climb to Poon Hill for sunrise over the Annapurna range, but the walk-in itself is good too — river valleys, rice fields, thick jungle with monkeys and birdlife, then a climb up through Gurung and Magar villages.
It's billed as easy but the staircase into Ghorepani (thousands of steps) and the rocky, uphill tracks make you work for the views.
