About this trip
A 14-day trek through Nepal's Annapurna region, walking from the lake-city of Pokhara up through rhododendron forest and traditional villages to the Annapurna Sanctuary itself, at the foot of the Annapurna massif.
You climb gradually, from the lower valleys around Birethanti and Tikhe Dhunga through Nayapul and Deurali, with the landscape and climate shifting as you gain height. Along the way you pass through local settlements, getting a real sense of daily life in the hills before the terrain opens out into high mountain scenery.
A highlight of the route is Ghorepani and Poon Hill, where you get sunrise and sunset views over the Annapurna range, before continuing on to the base camp itself, surrounded by peaks including Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, II and III.

Worth it if you want attentive guides and flexible itineraries. Think twice if you need guides with fluent English.
- Guides prioritise your welfare obsessively: eating only after trekkers, staying close during altitude struggles.
- Company adapts itineraries to requests, arranges pre-trip meetings with guides, and handles logistics responsively.
- Guide English proficiency varies; one trekker found their guide hard to understand despite his local knowledge.
- Suspension bridge crossings feature on the trek; prepare mentally if heights unsettle you.
