About this trip
This is a serious high-altitude trek through the Everest region, crossing three passes over 18 days and taking in some of the biggest mountain views in Nepal. Rather than retracing your steps, the route loops through the Khumbu, so each day brings new ground.
Along the way you'll pass through the Sherpa village of Khumjung, sit by Gokyo Lake, and stand at Everest Base Camp, with the three passes themselves delivering the wildest scenery of the trip.
No technical climbing is involved, but this is a demanding trek best suited to those with solid fitness and some previous trekking experience.
What you'll do
- Cross all three high passes of the Khumbu
- Visit Everest Base Camp
- See Gokyo Lake
- Walk through the Sherpa village of Khumjung
- Follow a loop route with no backtracking
- No technical climbing skills needed, but you should have good fitness and prior trekking experience
- This is a long, high-altitude trek at 18 days, so pacing and acclimatisation matter
Worth it if you value attentive guiding and flexibility over a structured group itinerary. Think twice if you need budget accommodation or predictable logistics.
- Guides anticipate needs and take you off-beaten-track for authentic, less-crowded views.
- Small groups or pairs get individualized attention; operators split to meet different paces and interests.
- Pre-trek support includes airport pickup, hotel bookings, restaurant advice, and equipment sorting in Kathmandu.
- No mention of costs; premium care and porters suggest this won't be budget-friendly.
