This is a broad introduction to Nepal rather than a single-focus trek: Kathmandu's heritage sites, a white-water run down the Trishuli River, a jungle safari in Chitwan, and a few days walking in the Annapurna foothills all in one 13-day loop.

You'll cover a lot of ground and a lot of different activities, from rafting rapids and canoeing to spotting wildlife on elephant-back and climbing to Poon Hill for sunrise over the Annapurnas.

It's run by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking, a Nepal-based operator that's been leading trips into these mountains since 1977.

What you'll do

• Tour Kathmandu's World Heritage Sites
• White-water raft the Trishuli River through gorges and rapids
• Jungle safari and bird watching in Chitwan National Park, plus canoeing and a Tharu dance show
• Trek through the Gurung village of Ghandruk to Tadapani and Ghorepani
• Rise early to catch sunrise over the Himalayas from Poon Hill
• Boat ride on Phewa Lake in Pokhara at sunset
