Everest Base Camp Trek

This is the classic walk to Everest Base Camp (5360m), on foot from Lukla through Sherpa villages, monasteries and national park trails, with the mountain itself as a constant backdrop rather than a single dramatic finish.

You follow the Dudh Koshi River up to Namche Bazaar, then push on through Tengboche, Pheriche and Lobuche before reaching Base Camp and climbing to Kalapatthar for sunrise views over Everest, Nuptse and the Khumbu Glacier. Expect 5-6 hours of walking most days, with rest days built in for altitude.

It is a proper trek rather than a technical climb, and the itinerary is paced for people in reasonably good, not expert, physical condition. Guides and porters support the gentle acclimatisation, and the trip is set up to work for families and groups of friends alike.
