About this trip
A short trek in the Annapurna foothills that gets you a genuine Himalayan sunrise without needing days of high-altitude walking. The goal is Poon Hill at 3210 metres, looking straight across at Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna I, all over 8000 metres.
Between Pokhara and the hill you walk through Gurung villages, terraced fields and rhododendron forest, with a waterfall and river along the way. Five days from Kathmandu (or three from Pokhara), it's built to be manageable rather than a test of endurance.
Guided throughout with private rooms at the stops, this suits someone who wants real mountain views and a taste of trekking life without committing to a long expedition.
